Tonight Was Not The Night
"I was thrilled when the concert began, having had the privilege to see many iconic stars from my youth. Sir Rod's voice was strong and carried off familiar tunes, bringing back memories from my youth. The young performers accompanying him were very talented and the stage setting was impressive. I grew up listening to Rod Stewart and was excited to see him in person. Perhaps it began with his lack of enthusiasm for the audience, why then did I feel disappointed? He spent more time connecting with his band and stage performers than connecting with the fans. From my seat, it came across as arrogance and left me with the feeling he didn't want to be there. At least twice, songs were shortened and it appeared that he was in a rush to finish the performance."
